In response to the Covid-19 crisis and the inability to run face-to-face workshops, we have been running home art workshop projects since April 2020. Each week we deliver a different art activity to participants' homes. These activities offer participants living with dementia and their carers the chance to explore a wide range of art mediums and artists.
Here is some of the latest work completed by participants of our Home Art Workshop boxes.
Art workshops in Letchworth and Stevenage
In partnership with Norths Hertforshire Museum and Stevenage Museum, Open Art Box CIC delivered art workshops inspired by artefacts from the museums collections to people affected by dementia in our community. Over 16 weeks from Oct 20 - Mar 2021 participants created work in response to a fascinating range of artefacts from neolithic pottery, a 19th century watercolour, 20th century suffragette items, Victorian valentines day cards, football memorabilia and many more!
As part of project participants also shared some of their treasured objects and why they are special to them.
Open Art Box CIC is a Community Interest Company, reg 12359160.
It is a not-for-profit organisation set up to benefit those in the community living with dementia and their carers, through engaging visual arts activities.
